Chapter :107

Al-Ma’un – Insignificant thing

Total verses:7

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Ma’un’ it is named ‘Al-Ma’un’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1 .Have you seen the one who denied the Day¹ of judgement?

2 .It is he who drives away the orphan.

3 .And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

4,5. Woe to those who pray their prayer carelessly²⁶.

6 .They pray inorder to show to others.

7 .And(refuse to give) even insignificant thing.

Chapter :106

Quraysh – A Tribe

Total verses :4

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Quraysh’ it is named ‘Quraysh’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2,3. Let them worship the God of their House³³ for having made them happy in the travels of winter and summer²⁶.

4 .He gave them food when they were hungry⁴⁶³. He protected them from fear³⁴.

Chapter : 105

Al-Feel – The Elephant

Total verses: 5

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Feel’ it is named ‘Al-Feel’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1.(O Muhammad), are you not aware, how did your God deal with the elephant army?

2.Has He not ended their plot in defeat?⁴⁶⁴

3.And He sent flocks after flocks of birds against them.

4.They threw heated stones on them.

5.And at once, He made them like chewed straw.³⁵⁵

Chapter : 104

Al-Humazah – The slanderer

Total verses :9

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Humazah’ it is named ‘Al-Humazah’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1. Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.

2. He gathers wealth and calculates it.

3. He thinks that his wealth will make him last for ever.

4. Not so. He will be thrown into ‘Huthama’.

5. And what can make you know what ‘Huthama’ is?

6. It is a fire lit by Allah.

7. Indeed, That will reach the minds.

8,9. Indeed, it will surround them in high pillars.

Chapter 103

Al ‘Asr – The Time

Total Verses – 3

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-asr’ it is named ‘Al-‘asr’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1. By³⁷⁹ the promise on the time.

2. Indeed, man is in loss.

3. Except those who have believed, done righteous deeds,  enjoined the truth to each other and enjoined patience to each other.

Chapter :102

At-Takaathur –  seeking more

Total verses: 8

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘At-Takaathur’ it is named ‘Al-Takaathur’.

In the name of Allah the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2. The (interest in) seeking more (wealth) till meeting the graveyards has diverted your attention²⁶.

3,4. Not so, you will know. Again not so, you will know again ²⁶.

5,6. Not so, if you know certainly you will see the hell.²⁶

7 .Then, you will know certainly.

8 .Then on that day, you will be enquired about the bounty.

Chapter : 101

Al-Qariyah – The Striking Event

Total verses: 11

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Qariyah’ it is named ‘Al-Qariyah’.

In the name of Allah the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1 .The stiking calamity.

2 .What is the striking calamity?

3 .What will make you know what the striking calamity is?

4 .On that Day¹, people will be like the scattered moths.

5 .And the mountains will be like  fluffed up wool.

6,7. The one whose weight is heavy, he will be in a pleasant life²⁶.

8,9. For the one whose weights are light, his (place of) dwelling is ‘Haviyah’²⁶.

10 .And what can make you know what  ‘Haviyah’is?

11 .It is a blazing fire.

Chapter :100

Al-‘Aadiyat – Fast running horse

Total verses : 11

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Aadiyat’ it is named ‘Al-‘Aadiyat’.

In the name of Allah the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2,3,4,5. By the fast running (horses), by those that strike sparks of fire, by those that attack in the dawn, by those that spread dust due that and by those that penetrate in the centre of the forces.

6 .Indeed, man is ungrateful to his God.

7 .And indeed he is the witness to it.

8 .And indeed, he loves wealth intensely.

9,10,11. Should he not know that on that Day¹ when the contents of the grave are brought forth and those inside the minds are gathered, indeed, their God is well acquainted with them?
