Chapter : 99

 Al- Zilzal – The Earth Quake

Total verses: 8

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Zilzal’ it is named ‘Al-Zilzal’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1 .When the earth is shaken with great shock.

2 .And when the earth brings forth its burdens.

3 .And when the man asks, “What is happened to it?”

4,5. On that Day¹ ,it will report its news as its God has announced thus.²⁶

6. On that Day¹, the people will be divided into many groups to see their deeds.

7 .Whoever did an atom  of good will see it.

8 .And whoever did an atom of bad will see it.

Chapter : 114

An - Nas – The Mankind

Total verses:6

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘An-naas’, it is named ‘An-Naas’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2,3,4. Say (O Muhammad),“I seek refuge in the God of the mankind²⁶, who is the sovereign of mankind and the God of mankind, from the harm of the one who puts evil thoughts from the hiding.”⁴⁹⁹

5 . He puts evil thoughts into the minds of the mankind.

6. Such people are there among the jinns and among the mankind.

Chapter :113

Al-Falaq – The Dawn

Total verses :5

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-falaq’, it is named ‘Al-falaq’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2,3,4,5. (O Muhammad),“I seek refuge in the God of dawn³⁵⁷, from the harm of that which he created, from the harm of spreading darkness, from the harm of the women who blow on the knots and from the harm of the envier when he envies.⁴⁹⁹”

Chapter :112

Al-Ikhlas – The purity of mind.

Total verses :4

As the whole chapter mentions about ‘The purity of mind’, it is named ‘Al-Ikhlas’.

1. Say (O Muhammad), “Allah is one”.

2. Allah is free of needs.⁴⁸⁵

3. He neither begets nor is He begotten.

4. And there is no one equal to Him.

Chapter : 111

Tabbat - Destroyed

Total verses: 5

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Tabbat’ it is named ‘Tabbat’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1. Both the hands of Abu Lahab were destroyed. He was also destroyed.

2. His wealth, and his deeds did not save him.

3,4. He and his wife who carries fire-wood will char in the blazing fire²⁶.

5. In her neck there remains a twisted rope of date-palm tree³⁵⁶.

Chapter :110

An-nasr – The help

Total verses :3

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘An-Nasr’ it is named ‘Al-Nasr’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1. When the help and victory of Allah comes.

2. And (O Muhammad),you see people entering into the religion of Allah in groups.

3. You exalt your God with praise. Seek forgiveness to Him.⁴⁹³ Indeed, He is ever ready to accept repentance.

Chapter : 109

Al-Kafirun – The Disbelievers

Total verses :6

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Kafirun’ it is named ‘Al-Kafirun’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1,2,3,4,5,6. Say (O Muhammad), “O disbelievers (of one and only God)”,I do not worship what you worship. You are not worspippers of whom I worship. I am not a worshipper of what you worship. You are not a worshipper of whom I worship. Your religion is for you and my religion is for me”.²⁶

Chapter: 108

108. AL KAUSAR - (The Pool)

Total verses: 3

As the first verse of the chapter mentions the word ‘Al-Kauthar’ it is named ‘Al-Kauthar’.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful.

1. (O Muhammad) Indeed, We gave Kawsar to you³⁸⁸.

2. So,you pray to your God and slaughter(animals) for Him.

3. Indeed, your enemy is the one without progeny.
