160. Men protected by angels during their lifetime.

In this verse (6:61) the word protectors denotes the angels. 

Every man is assigned angels to protect him from dangers till his appointed time arrives to be dead. 

In an accident when several are killed a few are miraculously saved. The reason attributed here is the Islamic concept of non arrival of the appointed time of death to those remaining alive, with the assigned angels playing their part.
