423. Was the iron metal brought down from above?

In verse 57:25 of the Quran the Almighty says ‘we sent down iron’.

This message may be news to us because we have been trained to believe the metal is an indigenous item from the earth.

The scientists have explained with adequate proof, the metal known as iron is not of indigenous origin from the earth.

There is a requirement of a certain amount of heat for the formation of each metal in this world as can be seen in the case of Carbon, Sodium, Magnesium, Neon Aluminum, Silicone, Lead, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium etc. But the required heat for the formation of iron did not occur on earth at any point of time in history according to the scientists. If raw materials to produce a product are not available in a particular locality it is natural the same is procured from elsewhere. Hence when there are reasons to believe a product cannot be created from raw material sources that are indigenously not available, but the product is in fact available means the raw material has been made available from outside. Hence there is no doubt a particular raw material that cannot be found indigenously can give rise to an end product that contains the same raw material confirming the raw material has been brought down from another location.

There are certain stars in the ‘Milky Way’ which carry heat of up to 30 crores degrees, when meteorites fall from them, or when comets hurtle towards the earth, they are stopped at the entry level into the earth’s atmosphere and burnt out. The debris resulting from this burn out, fall on the earth’s surface is the collection of iron deposited on earth’s surface during the past billions of years, that we make use of.

Scientists from NASA point out the earth did not at any point of time in its history possess the capacity for formation of iron within itself nor did the other planets of the solar family have the same, because the same scientists say, to create an atom of iron an energy equivalent to four times the energy from all the planets of the solar family put together is needed.

Hence they conclude the iron is a product from outer space and not from the earth.

422. The splitting of the moon.

The verse (54:1) of the Quran says the moon has split.

When Prophet Muhammad declared himself as the messenger of God, the people at that time demanded proof from him. 

The prophet split the moon in the sky into two, as evidence, for everyone assembled there to witness.(Book Bukhari 3636, 4864, 4865)

This incident is being conveyed through this verse. People who are aware of the existence of earth’s natural satellite may come to a conclusion that splitting and coming together could never happen. 

But God, when he performs certain feats, miracles in this world leaves signs as evidence. 

While mentioning the great deluge during the time of Prophet Nuh, the Almighty talks of leaving behind the boat (Noah’s Ark) as evidence. This boat has now been discovered. (please refer to explanation point No;222.)

In the same way after mentioning the incidence, and confirming the splitting of the moon, says the same has been recorded as evidence

The Almighty says the incidence of the split in the moon is not a trickery of magic but a reality. 

When Niel Armstrong set his foot on the moon the spacecraft photographed the moon in several angles that was received by the base station on earth.

One of those photographs found contained the image of the moon being joined by a ridge as though cut in the middle and rejoined.

The scientists named the ridge as the ‘Arabian Split’ because of the belief Muslims in Arabia nurtured the moon was split and rejoined at the will of God Almighty, and as a miracle performed b Prophet Muhammad. 

This conveys the message in the Quran about the splitting of the moon thereby reaffirming the belief of Muslims. As already declared in the Quran, the evidence left in the moon can be witnessed on discovery of the Arab Split.

This message was flashed in the magazine ‘American Reporter’ when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, which has been translated, translated and published from different parts of the world.

The record in the Quran about the splitting of the moon, and the evidence regarding it being found on the surface of its surface proves the Quran is the word of God. 

Some keep denying the fact now, about the split that took place on the moon by quoting NASA scientists as saying the ridge that stood as evidence is no more visible.

But no one can deny the fact published in the ‘American Reporter’ along with the relevant photographs by the Apollo spacecraft, about the ridge found along the median in the moon, NASA did not deny having provided the details of the split earlier, proving indeed there was one.

421. The ever expanding Universe. 

Verse (51:47) of the Quran says ‘We created the heavens and keep expanding it’.

Present day scientists have discovered the universe that we live in keeps on expanding.

The sun not only rotates but also traverses at a speed of 900,000 kmph crossing a distance of about 20 million kilometers in a single day, and the Universe keeps expanding accordingly is the discovery by the present-day scientists. 

Right from the time the sun was created it keeps travelling at a speed of 20 million/km h resulting in the ever-expanding universe, by saying this in its verses the Quran proves itself to be the word of God.

420. How was the Quran safeguarded? 

Verse (15:9) of the Quran says ‘We revealed the Quran and will safeguard it ourselves’. Point no;143 explains the safeguarding of the Quran. 

Having misunderstood this verse of the Quran, the western world and the Christian missionaries, citing some changes in the shape of letters in the words of the Quran keep spreading the false information the Quran was not safeguarded.

They claim since it is being declared in the Quran, it will be protected and safeguarded by God himself, there ought not to be any discrepancy found in it. If writing mistakes are found it amounts to errors in the Quran. On analyzing the Quran, it is figured out that in certain pages of the Quran some words are mis-spelt. They cite these mistakes to claim the Quran was not safeguarded. 

In certain words of the Quran we find unwanted long vowels being used where it is not necessary. A letter with a close proximity in pronunciation is used instead of the exact one. They cite such human errors to declare the Quran was not protected.

Verse (29:49) of the Quran clearly refutes such accusations. 

It needs to be clearly understood, God did not reveal the Quran in a written text or in the form of a manuscript, if that was the case their accusation stands valid.

Or, for that matter if it was revealed in sound form and Prophet Muhammadh having recorded it in writing all by himself erroneously then the accusation stands scrutiny. 

But the Quran was revealed in sound form and not in written form.

Each and every verse of the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad who in turn would memorize it and at the same time would urge his comrades to memorize the same. 

Later he asked his learned comrades to record the same in writing. 

Since this was the act of humans, mistakes by them would not amount to those of the entity who revealed it. 

Hence the declaration in this verse of the Quran that says ‘the Quran is safeguarded in the hearts of the learned.

For example in verse 37:68 of the Quran it is written as ‘Laa Ilal Jaheem’, whereas it should be as ‘La Ilal Jaheem’. 

Though the long vowel is used instead of the short one, people all over the world continue to read it the way it is written. (with a short vowel sound). Though man made typographical errors exist in the Quran, the muslims for generations have memorized it in their hearts in the correct way as revealed initially, thus safeguarding it for centuries until the end of the world.

This is proof the Quran is safeguarded in its sound and pronunciation.

We have explained this subject in our preface under the heading ‘History of compilation of the Quran’ errors in writing. 

419. The secret of rain from the skies. 

Verse (24:43) of the Quran explains the scientific truth about the way the rain water is collected in the skies and discharged over the earth. We are aware of the way the water from the earth is converted into steam and stored in the clouds. 

The majority of the people even today have not realized the enormity of the clouds.

The water converted into steam is carried above to the sky and held together in the form of ice crystals in clouds.

The ice crystals thus formed are stacked in layers one above the other up to a height of 30,000 feet, a height more than that of the highest mountain in the world.

Ice crystals thus created in a steep formation melt on electric contact, discharging the water down words a rain.

This is the claim by today’s scientists that we have presented above.

The information such as collecting of clouds, stacking the ice particles formed by condensation up to mountain high in layers vertically, creating a magnetic power by lightning are found in this verse (24:43) of the Quran one after the other. We are aghast at all these details found in the Quran proving the Quran is the word of God.

418. Are women allowed to enter the masjids? 

In verses (24:37, 9:108) of the Quran that talk about masjids it says ‘there are men inside them’

Some scholars, having misunderstood these words, prohibit women from entering the masjids. This is wrong on their part.

All the laws and commandments in the Quran are addressed in the masculine gender. When Prophet Muhammad was queried about this during his time, he replied by saying all the laws, commandments, apply to both the sexes.

Normally all the laws and commandments in the Quran apply to both sexes except the gender specific ones. (To know more refer to explanation point no;8).

Moreover, women attended the daily worship at masjids during the time of Prophet Muhammad. No one can prohibit something permitted by the Prophet. ‘Do not prohibit women from attending worship at masjids’ (Book Bukhari: 900, 873, 5238) 

When women ask permission to go to masjids in the night time do allow them. (Book Bukhari:865, 899).

Women used to attend the early morning worship along with the prophet and return home was narrated by Ayesha (RA). Book Bukhari: 578, 372, 867, 872)

Sometimes I start the worship with the intention of continuing for a long time. But when I hear the sounds of a baby crying, I immediately shorten the worship, taking into consideration the dilemma the baby’s would be subjected to. (Book Bukhari: 707, 862, 708, 709, 710, 868)

On a particular night the prophet was slow in conducting the night worship, Umar (RA) approached and informed him about the women and children having fallen asleep. (Book Bukhari: 866, 569, 862, 864)

Once the worship was over the women were the first to rise and disperse followed by the men in a while. (Book Bukhari: 837, 866) 

There is numerous evidence to prove that women were allowed to go to masjids to fulfill their congregational worship obligations.

Among the places of worship for Muslims the one in Makkah stands first. The women fulfill their congregational worship obligations there, and also the mandatory duty of Hajj.

Hence it could be understood that this verse of the Quran does not prohibit women from getting inside the masjids. The question that arises here is the reason the phrase ‘There are men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah nor performance of worship and giving of Zakat in verses (24:37, 9:108)

This is a message informing about the presence of men in the masjid who do not have a dwelling to turn to, and does not convey that only males are allowed in masjids.

417. Singing the praise of Almighty in the masjids. 

In this verse (24:36) of the Quran, some take its content as meaning ‘the Almighty has permitted’ the calling of His names in the masjids.

The word ‘Adina’ is used in the Arabic text meaning declared, commanded, and also permitted.

When analyzing the message of this verse, it is found the use of the word ‘permitted’ is unsuitable in its context.

It is a well-known fact that masjids are for singing the praise of Almighty.

We see here, a commandment not to destroy the places of worship without utilizing it to sing the praise of the Almighty.

416. The giant birds. 

In verse (22:31) of the Quran, it compares a person who creates an equal to the Almighty as one ‘who is flung away after being carried by birds’.

Right from the days of Prophet Muhammad till the present day, the world has not come across a bird huge enough to carry a human being.

It is possible only for a bird huge and powerful enough to carry out such an act. 

Though birds of such abilities are not witnessed by any in our times there are fossils of such birds discovered by scientists. Fossils of birds as huge as that of elephants are discovered. If the genetic material of such birds are found the possibility of recreating them is a reality.

The Almighty has cited such birds as an example in this verse because they existed in the past, as can be seen from the discovery of their fossils.
