212. The Immaculate life of Prophet Muhammad.

In this verse 10:16 of the Quran, Prophet Muhammad is been commanded to present his immaculate life as a proof to establish his prophethood.

Prophet Muhammad presented to the people of those days his past life as an important proof.

Those people did not come to know of any cheating or injustices committed by Prophet Muhammad.

Though Prophet Muhammad was one of the wealthiest persons, the people of those days never found an inkling of pride in him. Rather they found him happy distributing his wealth to the needy.

They found in him a person living a selfless ,immaculate life.

This made the people of his days to believe, Prophet Muhammad could be be completely taken into confidence and this was one of the important reasons for people to accept Islam.

Any person for that matter cannot goad people to accept him as an immaculate by reminding them of his past, .because at some point or the other, one cannot prove his immaculateness..Even though some call themselves as saints nowadays, it is impossible for them to prove their immaculateness as saints, they would shy away from recalling their past..

Prophet Muhammad was the only person who had the courage and confidence to portray his past as a proof of immaculateness.

The Quran also commands Prophet Muhammad to establish himself as a messenger of God by placing these bare facts.

The fact that Prophet Muhammad lived a more perfect and immaculate life after prophethood is a well known fact.

Refer explanation point 486 to know more about how Prophet Muhammad faced criticisms and and defeated people who were against him and his prophethood.

211. Should everyone strive to gain knowledge?

Verse 9:122 of the Quran asks “wouldn't it be fair had at least a few departed in search of religious knowledge.”

But at least a few could have been initiated to spend time, to learn religion and propagate the same to others. We can come to know this through the phrases “ At least a small number of people should have departed from each clan.”

210. The three on whom the verdict was deferred.

In verse 9:118 of the Quran Allah talks about three persons whom He forgives.

The Tabook war was one of the most, critical battles that was fought during those days..Prophet Muhammad had ordered every one take part in the battle. But three of the comrades of Prophet Muhammad delayed their departure, with a intention to join Prophet Muhammad a little later, but never made it.

Hence Prophet Muhammad ordered other muslims cut all relationships with them

The three later regretted much of their act and Allah forgave them. This is what is mentioned in this verse of the Quran. To know more in detail about this incident refer to Hadith Book Bukhari:4418, 4676,4677, 6690.

209. The compensation measure for murder.

When a murder is committed inadvertently, the verse 4:92 of the Quran says a compensation has to be paid without mentioning the quantum.

When there is an incidence of inadvertant murder, the murderer needs to pay to the family of the murdered a compensation of 100 camels, or 200 cattle heads or two thousand goats etc. This compensation needs to be collected from the family members of the murderer to be distributed amongst the legal heir of the deceased as per Islamic law of inheritance.

(Hadith Book:: Nasaye 4719)

208. Reconstructing fingerprints of humans.

In verse 75:4 of the Quran Allah says He is capable of creating humans again and also reconstructing the tips of their fingers.

When there are so many important body parts in man, the significance in Allah particularly mentioning the fingertips in this verse is because we can never point out a body part as belonging to a particular person except in the case of a fingertip ( impressions of finger prints of a particular person.)

Because the structure and form of different organs in a human being can be the same in many persons except the structure and forms of their fingertips.

The fingerprints of one person can never be the same as another. And Allah says in this verse of the Quran, He can reconstruct the same even after many years of death of persons.

207. The part played by women in procreation

In many verses of the Quran Allah says man was created from a drop of sperm.

Though we have translated it as a drop of sperm, verse (76;2) of the Quran describes it as a collection of drops.

The sperm from a man, and the egg from a woman fuse to form a human embryo of women.

The Quran proves itself to be the word of God by revealing 1400 years ago the truth about reproduction in humans.

206. Nomads are qualified to receive zakat money.

Verse (9:60) of the Quran says the zakat money can be spent on nomads. And verses (2:177, 2:215, 4:36, 8:41, 17:26, 30:38, 59:7) of the Quran also talk of charity to be spent on nomads. The Arabic word Ibnu-s-Sabeel meaning ‘son of paths’ is translated by us as ‘nomads,’ If a person is associated excessively with an act, the Arabs have the custom of adding the act to the name of the person

For example; a person who involves himself most of his time in participating in wars was named as ‘son of war’ and a person who always keeps roaming around was named as ‘son of roads or paths’ This word normally does not refer to people who are normal travelers, but to people who travel all their life. Hence, we choose the word ‘nomads’ as appropriate enough to mean Ibnu-s-Sabeel. The message this verse conveys is that the life of nomads can be transformed into a stationary one with the zakat money being offered to them. Some have translated the same word to refer to a wayfarer or a traveler, or one who has lost all his belongings on travel. As per their argument maybe this word could refer to a traveler at the most but referring to a person who has lost all his belongings is an illogical imagination. And there are different words to refer to a person on a trip. The word ‘son of roads’ refers to a person constantly on the move. Hence being a nomad is accepted to qualify one to receive the zakat money. The one who has lost all his belongings can be referred to in two names such as a poor person or a needy one and will not be referred to as ‘son of paths’.

205. Zakat in the ‘path of Allah’.

Zakat funds can be used in eight different ways as per the verse 9:60 of the Quran ,and one such way is in the path of the Creator.

Though the phrase ‘in the path of the Creator’ refers to all good needs, it particularly means fighting in the battle field for the cause of Truth.

It can be seen from the meaning of this verse, the path of God means not necessarily be taken in a general sense to point out all the good deeds.

There are two explanations by Prophet Muhammad in this regard as can be seen in the (Hadith Book:Abu Dawood 1393).

This is the first reason.

If the mention of ‘ the path of God’ refers to all the good deeds by men then there is no necessity to differentiate receivers of Zakat Money into eight categories of people.Had Allah had stopped with the words ‘in the path of Allah’, the rest of seven categories would have fit into one..

Because as per definition all the other seven categories fall ‘in the path of God’.and hence it needs to be taken here at this instance as meaning ‘those waging war’.

During the time of Prophet Muhammad the warriors were no paid for their services, but were asked to be paid from the Zakat Money.

Religious services, releasing of books, constructing masjids, do not fall under the category of ‘In the path of Allah’ though they do not come under the purview of this verse (9:60 ) somehow fit into the general description.
