211. Should everyone strive to gain knowledge?

Verse 9:122 of the Quran asks “wouldn't it be fair had at least a few departed in search of religious knowledge.”

But at least a few could have been initiated to spend time, to learn religion and propagate the same to others. We can come to know this through the phrases “ At least a small number of people should have departed from each clan.”
