253. Prediction in the Quran about modern vehicles.

In verse (16:8) the Quran speaks about various load bearing animals such as horses, mules, and donkeys and mentions “ Henceforth Allah will create from sources you are not aware of.

These words of this verse are to be taken as prediction of the Quran because different types of vehicles were made in the period after Prophet Muhammad downwards.This is yet another evidence to prove the Quran is the word of God.

252. Death is something certain, without doubt.

In this verse (15:99) of the Quran it says “ Worship your God till you get the Yaqeen”

The word “Yaqeen” means something certain.

It also means something certain in one’s mind.

Some unscrupulous people who pose as spiritually enlightened say the word Yaqeen has only the second meaning(.ie) something certain in one’s mind. 

They claim that since they are certain in their minds they need not worship. They do not perform any religious duty prescribed in Islam nor do they bind themselves by the commandments of God.. They justify their acts of not worshipping and not performing their duties by citing this verse (15:99).

But the status claimed by these people for this verse cannot be given. 

In this society Prophet Muhammad had a very good affirmation in Islam , and similarly the comrades of the Prophet the best among the followers of Islam worshipped Almighty Allah till their death.Not one of them claimed that there is no need for them to worship God since they are certain in their mind. 

Hence it needs to be understood the meaning of this word as death ‘ a certain event ‘ that is bound to take place in one’s life until which one needs to keep worshipping. 

One thing that any man cannot and does not refute is the event of death - a certainty.Hence the Arabs used the word Yaqeen to denote death and are still using it to mean the same.

Verse 74.47 reveals the evil saying, we were immersed in wrong till Yaqeen reached us.

When Usman bin Malvoon a comrade, passed away, Prophet Muhammad instead of saying he is dead, said he has reached yaqeen. Hadith Book Bukhari: 1243

251. The commandment to tread in humbleness.

In these verses (15:88, 17:24, 26:215) of the Quran we see the commandment for people to lower their wings.

This refers to humbleness.

When the wings are spread the birds soar to their heights, when they lower their wings they come down, hence spreading the wings is referred to as arrogance and lowering them is referred to as humbleness in the Arabic language

250. The grandeur of the first chapter of the Quran.

Verse (15:87) calls words of the seven (verses) that are repeatedly recited.

Prophet Muhammad has explained this refers to the first chapter of the Quran named ‘Alhamd’ (or)‘Starting”

249. What is meant by ‘revealing the sura’.

In this verse (68:42) the phrase ‘revealing the sura’ is used.

Islam says the Almighty has never been visible to human eyes.But at the same time it does not propound the theory that God is vacuity, rather Islam says we can see God when we are brought to life after death.

Verse (89:22) says the Almighty God will come on the day of judgment surrounded by angels.

And command the people to prostrate at his feet. This is what is conveyed here in verse(68:42).

On the day of revealing sura (shin) means the day of making people prostrate at His feet.

Those who were used to obeying God in this world would fall at His feet on that day and others who disobeyed would not be able to do so.THis is the message given by Prophet Muhammad. Hadith Book Bukhari :4919

248. Mountains as pegs in the earth.

Allah says in the verses (15:19, 16:15, 21:31, 27:61, 31:10, 41:10, 50:7, 77:27, 78:7, 79:32) that mountains serve as pegs to the earth.

Pegs are used to hold one thing fixed on to another.

The earth is made up of layers soil.The upper layers are of less weight than the lower ones.

With the rotation of the earth at a uniform speed and the weight of the layers of the earth being different from one another something in the form of a peg is needed to hold from one breaking away from the other. 

Without any such peg, humans on the top layer may be thrown away and also make the buildings collapse.

These verses say the pegs as mountains are there to prevent any such eventualities.

There are mountains greater in height underneath the earth than above holding on the earth in position.

Because of the upper and the lower layers of the earth’s crust being fixed with mountains as pegs, the earth rotates smoothly without the layers being separated and thrown away.

This fact revealed 14 centuries ago is yet another proof that ‘Quran’ is God’s word.

247. Can we seek forgiveness for those who equated God?

The Almighty explains in this verse (9:113) about how Muslims and Prophet Muhammad need implement the ideology of Islam.

This explanation pertains to Muslims and Prophet Muhammad as not to seek forgiveness for their parents and relatives if they happen to be idolaters.

When the Almighty has strictly mentioned in the Quran about not forgiving idolaters, the attempt to seek forgiveness for them is violating s commandment.

Generally man is inclined to punish those who wrong, but when it comes to close relatives he forgives though they have wronged. 

But the attribute of God is directly opposite.The almighty gets annoyed when someone else is delegated to His position. Though Muslims and Prophet Muhammad are close to Him than all others, when comes to His dignity He overrides all considerations. Creating an equal to Him and playing with His dignity annoys Him to a great extent. He does not forgive them and also considers asking for their forgiveness a crime. 

The verse above clearly explains this ideology..

We can pray for the proper guidance of non-Muslims, we can pray for their riches in this world, we can pray for their well being in this world. The great God Who permits all these actions refuses to permit anyone equating Him with others.

And even Prophet Muhammad is not any exemption in this matter, says this verse.

We can get a better clarity on this verse, when we look into the period it was revealed.

When Abu Talib was in his deathbed Prophet Muhammad visited him. At that time Abu Jahal was in the company of Abu Talib.Prophet Muhammad said to Abu Talib “ Oh, my great uncle say there is no god other than Allah, even now it is not late, I will plead to Allah on your behalf “ At that instance Abu Jahal and Abdullah bin Abi Umayiya the two of them said “Oh Abu Talib! Do you want to forsake the religion of Abdul Muthalib? The two kept on talking to Abu Talib until he refused to come into the fold of Islam in spite of persuasion from Prophet Muhammad, who said he will continue asking for the forgiveness of Abu Talib until he was forbidden to do so. This was the time of the verse saying “equators of God are confirmed dwellers of hell and whosoever whether they are relatives of Muslims, the Prophet and other believers do not have any right to plead forgiveness on behalf of equators of God.”Verse 9:113. was revealed with the other (verse 28:56) saying Oh prophet! You cannot guide anyone whom you desire to the straight path”.

This message was revealed as a refusal to Prophet Muhammad when he attempted to seek forgiveness for Abu Talib in his deathbed, who was supportive in the spread of Islam, 

This incident makes clear that whoever transgresses the commandments of God cannot be offered succor, even by messengers of God.

Similarly we can see from the below Hadith, Prophet Muhammad was refused to seek for forgiveness for his mother. 

I tried to get permission from God to pray and seek forgiveness for my mother, but I was refused said the Prophet Muhammad. 

Hadith Book Muslim :1621, 1622

Not only Prophet Muhammad, even Prophet Ibrahim who is declared by Allah Himself as his friend attempted to seek forgiveness for his father, can be seen from verses 14:41, 19:47, 26:86 of the Quran. 

Prophet Ibrahim later kept away from such attempts after being reprimanded by Allah. Verse 9:114

 Allah says there is a model for muslims in Prophet Ibrahim to simulate, but in the matter of pleading forgiveness for his disbelieving father.Verse 60:4.

246. Prediction in the Quran about the city of Makkah to flourish.

The spot where Prophet Ibrahim settled his family is now known as Makkah.This is a desert area where the first human being Prophet Adam built the first place of worship.

Prophet Ibrahim settled his family adjacent to this place of worship and made a plea to God that “ Oh Our Lord! Indeed, I have settled some of my offspring in an uncultivated valley near Your Sacred house, our Lord! That they may establish the prayers. So incline the hearts of men towards them and provide them with fruits so that they may be grateful”.Today we see the result of his prayer to God, the development of the city of Makkah.
