261. Refuting religious allegiance orally under duress.

Verse (16:106) says if one utters words detrimental to his belief in God under duress it will be forgiven.

There is no place in Islam to bend, to double speak, or to follow wrong ideology for trivial benefits.

But can a person who is well entrenched in belief in God utter words against his belief to save himself from being killed. The answer is Yes. This verse says so.

This verse guides us to save ourselves and our property in situations like riots where one under duress can utter words though orally against his belief which will be forgiven by the Almighty..

260. The birds that remain afloat in air.

The Quran while talking about birds says they are being ensnared in the air. The verses (16:79, 24:41, 67:19) of the Quran say “Your Lord has ensnared the birds”.

This verse has embedded in itself a very important scientific truth. We are aware of the fact the earth rotates on its own axis and also revolves around the sun in a years time at the speed of 1,07,000 kms/hour.

.The earth which moves at a speed of 1,07,000 km/hr should collide with the birds, but this does not happen.

This is because of the force of gravity the birds ahead are pushed forward and the ones behind are pulled along with the earth.Had the earth due to gravity does not push the birds forward, they would collide with the earth and get killed.

This great fact is revealed by the Quran in its wonderful words, proving it as the word of God.

259. The Honeybees and honey.

The verses (16:68,69) of the Quran talk about how honey is created.

There are four scientific truths revealed in it.

The zoological researchers have declared that the honeybeees however further they travel to collect the honey, come back to their origin exactly.

This verse reveals Allah has made some kind of intuition in the bees to ” depart and arrive with ease “.

The Quran has already revealed long ago about arrival of bees to their origins however far they go and about the intuition to do so.

(This has been clearly explained in point no; 474.)

Secondly it was previously believed that the bees collected fluids from flowers, and fruits and collected them in their combs to make them into honey.

But the scientists of today have found into be untrue. They have found out ,the honey bees take these fluids as their food. The process to convert these fluids into honey takes place within their bodies and not outside in their combs. The honeycomb does not possess any technology to do the conversion.

The Quran says this in this verse.

By the words “ take in your food from the flowers and fruits” the Quran clearly reveals that the bees take those fluids as their food.

Thirdly it is seen that the fluids that are taken as food by the bees undergo a chemical change to become honey and gurged out.

The honey bees have a an aperture for the honey to be gurged out other than the opening for excretion. The honey that is thus gurged out is saved in the combs.

This has been proved by the scientists..

But the Quran fourteen centuries ago has revealed that honey does not come from the mouth of the bees from its intake of food, but from its stomach.

The findings of the latest scientists revealed 14 centuries ago by the Quran could never be the possible words of any man.

Fourthly the people of all faculties of medicine agree with the medicinal values of honey that has been pointed out in this verse.

This verse is one that establishes doubtlessly Quran is the word of God.

258. The one more ‘Wahee’ other than Quran.

In verse (66:3) of the Quran, we find Prophet Muhammad mentioning a certain incident by saying ‘ Allah has revealed me this’.

Please refer to the other explanation point 272 regarding this.

Allah reveals a conversation that took place between Prophet Muhammad and his wife.

Prophet Muhammad discloses a secret information to his wife, but she leaks out the message to another person without maintaining secrecy. Prophet Muhammad on learning about this, questions his wife. But the wife asks him a question in return 'as to who informed him’ . The reply that the prophet gave is what the verse consists of.

The All-Knower, Who very well knows everything is the One.

The message this verse conveys directly is “ Your wife without maintaining the secrecy entrusted to her has leaked out information.

Through this incident we find an important ideological message delivered in refutation to those who say the Quran is the only divine message from God and no other kind of message is ever delivered.

If to go by the argument that the Quran is the only form of divine revelation, this incident would have been placed directly in it. THere is not a single verse that says ‘your wife has done this kind of an act’.

This verse could only be true if it had been delivered in some other form other than wahee.

This is also evidence to prove indeed there are other ways to divine message other than wahee.

We need to take note of something different from this verse. It does not contain any religious dictat or any other advice delivered to humans. It is merely a conversation between a husband and a wife. Neither is the matter of discussion a religious one because there is no secrecy in the matters of Islam.

Why should Allah register something in the Quran that is of no use to the Muslim community or others.?Allah would never do anything useless.

Allah knows very well that a group claiming there is no other form of divine message would give rise to at a later stage. This verse appears to have been placed in the Quran to assert that other forms of divine message will be delivered.

To know more about obeying commandments of Allah and following the guidance of Prophet Muhammad please refer to explanation points18, 36, 39, 50, 55, 56, 57, 60, 67, 72, 105, 125, 127, 128, 132, 154, 164, 184, 244, 255, 256, 286, 318, 350, 352, 358, 430.

257. How milk is produced in mammals?

Verse (16:66) of the Quran speaks about the way milk is produced in mammals.

It was believed in the past that the blood changed into milk in the body of the animals. THis was the notion until last century.

Verse (16:66) of the Quran speaks of production of milk in animals being gotten from what is being imbibed in their bellies and in the intermediate stages of the formation of blood. This verse says the blood does not in itself convert to milk.

Mammals have two intestines , a small intestine and a large intestine. The food that is taken in by the animal is broken down in the small intestine and imbibed nourished.

(The cows‘s special four chambered stomach breaks down grasses into things that nourish it and produce milk. The first chamber softens chewed plant material, which the cow burps up and chews again several times. There , special cells combine the nutrients with sugars from the cow’s liver to create milk.)

While the roughage is pushed into the large intestine, which before being excreted in the intermediate stage gives rise to milk and later blood..

The excretion is the roughpage and the broken down food mixture in the large intestine from which before being turned into blood by various processes in the biochemistry of the animal milk is produced .

This is what the message in the Quran reveals as the stage in between the conversion from food to excretion and blood.

If it is taken as previously believed that blood is converted into milk, then it necessarily means the next stage after blood is milk, but the Quran says the stage before blood is milk. Let’s see what modern science says regarding this?

Blood is not converted into milk, rather the food that is taken in by the animal is broken down in the small intestine and turns out to be a semi solid mixture from which the animal gets its nourishment.

The blood stream collects the necessary nutrients needed to create milk to the udders, where the nutrients are converted to milk. It has been established by the scientists of the 21st century that milk is produced in the animal at a stage before when blood is produced and roughage is converted to excreta. This is yet another proof that the Quran is the word of God when we find the verse saying ‘’we are feeding you with pure milk from its stomach in between the production of excreta and blood.

256. The task assigned to Prophet Muhammad is to explain the Quran.

Verse 16:64 says the reason Allah chose Prophet Muhammad to reveal the Quran was to explain it.

”We did not bestow it, except that you may explain” is more emphatic than ”We bestowed it that you may explain”.

The structure of this phrase emphasises more on the necessity of explanation by Prophet Muhammad.

If the Quran was presented to people and they understood the moment they read it the Almighty would not have said in the Quran “We did not bestow it on you, except you may explain it. Would anyone be required to explain something easily understood, would the All Knowing Almighty task it to Prophet Muhammad.

Hence we need to understand the Quran along with the explanation of prophet Muhammad.

To understand more about understanding the Quran with the explanations of Prophet Muhammad please refer to explanation points 18, 36, 39, 50, 55, 56, 57, 60, 67, 72, 105, 125, 127, 128, 132, 164, 184, 244, 255, 258, 286, 318, 350, 352, 358, 430

255. How to comprehend “The Quran”.

In verse (16:44) of the Quran, Almighty Allah says the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad so that people may ponder over it, and Prophet Muhammad would explain it to them..

This verse (16:44) states there are two ways to understand the Quran.

One way is to ponder over the Quran and understand it.

And the second way is to understand the Quran along with the explanations of Prophet Muhammad where we are unable to understand ourselves.

This is the best method Allah teaches us to understand the Quran.

There are two types of verses in the Quran. Some verses could be understood as soon as they are read, or a little bit of intense attention will render them clear. This is one type.

There are yet another type of verses where we could understand the meaning as they are read though not fully.. Prophet would explain as to what these message mean to us. And only in his explanations could we understand the full meaning of theses verses.

For example, everyone understands the commandment to worship, to fast, to pay zakat, to perform Hajj etc but the method to do all these functions would be explained by Prophet Muhammad which is necessary.

Hence we cannot allude to any other explanation other than this to elaborate on the words “ So that you may explain, and they may ponder, we revealed these teachings to you”.

If the Quran could be understood as soon as it is read and pondered upon Allah would have mentioned it here.

This verse stands proof to state the necessity of Prophet Muhammad’s explanations along with the verses of the Quran for implementing it in the world.

To know more about Prophet Muhammad’s explanations is necessary to understand the Quran fully please refer to explanation points 18, 36, 39, 50, 55, 56, 57, 60, 67, 72, 105, 125, 127, 128, 132, 164, 184, 244, 255, 256, 258, 286, 318, 350, 352, 358, 430.

254. Can one shoulder the burden of another?

The verses (16:25, 29:13) say ” They are saying thus, so that they may in the day of Judgement will not only bear their own burden but also those they misguided on earth”

But it is being said in the verses 2:134, 2:141, 2:281, 2:286, 3:25, 3:161, 4:111, 6:31, 6:164, 7:39, 7:96, 9:82, 9:95, 10:8, 10:52, 17:15, 35:18, 39:7, 39:24, 39:48, 39:51, 40:17, 45:22, 52:21, 53:38, 74:38, that one cannot shoulder the burden of the another.

The fundamental ideological structure of Islam is that no one shoulders the burden of another. The above cited verses (16:25, 29:13) cannot be considered as contradicting the fundemental structure of Islam.

Because if one misguides another, he must shoulder the misguided person’s burden. This does not amount to shouldering someone else’s but his own. Hence this cannot be considered as contradicting the Quran.

Please refer to explanation point 265 also.
