309. Eight years of service as ‘Mahar’.

This verse (28:27) of the Quran speaks of women’s rights granted to them in a married life.

Prophet Musa accepted the condition to work for a person for a period of eight years as ‘Mahar’ in return for getting married to the person’s daughter.

This event stands as an example to show people who deceive women of their respectful dower, and those offering a pittance as ‘Mahar’ to them.

Please refer to explanation point 108, the consequences of demanding dowry from women, and the duty of paying them their due dower amount.

308. The rare species to be exposed in the final days of the world.

There are many wonders that are predicted to take place during the final days of destruction of this world, one such is mentioned in this verse (27:82) of the Quran is the rare species that is to be exposed during the doomsday.

This verse says the rare species to be exposed, in the final days of the world, will be one that has never been witnessed by humans yet, and that it would converse with humans.

This is an ordinary marvel to be performed by the Almighty. People who are led by their own desires give a weird meaning calling the species that is promised to be exposed at the doomsday as a radio, or a tape recorder player.

Though there are different kinds of explanations offered by many, the fact remains. The meaning of the word ‘Taabbat’ refers to a being.

In addition we also come across Prophet Muhammad while mentioning the ten signs of doomsday including this ‘being’ as one.

Hence the being that is promised to be exposed in the final days, refers to a creature and not any modern day invention.

307. Ban on Shaitans entering the heavens.

These verses (15:18, 26:212, 37:8,9,10, 72:8, 72:9) of the Quran talk of the heavenly kingdom.

The angels while discussing amongst them about the commandments of Almighty, had the shaitans eavesdropping at the heavenly bode. This was not prohibited by the Almighty.

After Prophet Muhammad was chosen as the last messenger of God, the eaves dropping and secretly listening to the conversations taking place in the divine kingdom, by the shaitans were prohibited by the Almighty.

These verses tell us about the secrets of the heavenly kingdom being not known to the shaitans.

306. The prediction about the fall of the enemies of Prophet Muhammad.

At the time Prophet Muhammad was in Makkah he was in a very weak and vulnerable position. Verse 54:45 was revealed then announcing the fall of his enemies as “ The final victory belongs to the Prophet of God, and his enemies will flee.”

When there was no sign of victory to the Muslims, this prediction by the Quran was proved to be true in a few years.

This is yet another proof that ‘The Quran’ is God’s word.

305. Barrier between the seas.

Verses (27:61, 35:12, 55:19,20) of the Quran speak of an invisible barrier between two seas, that prevents the water from one mixing with the other. Scientists have now discovered the barrier in between two seas, after several attempts and trials. The Quran had disclosed the same several centuries ago.

The Mediterranean and The Black Sea were separated by a land mass. The two merged about 12,000 years ago during a deluge. Because of the variance in the density of the two types of sea water, the dense water of one sea sinks down to a lower level and the less dense water stayed above at a higher level for a height of 200 meters above, and continues to remain so for a period of more than 12.000 years without mixing into each other. The Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean though adjacent, display a difference in the color and density of the water and both the waters do not get mixed.

Similarly the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean though adjacent to each other, do not get mixed, and with the waters of the Mediterranean being a little more warmer and more dense than the waters of the Atlantic, stays above the other, exerting a good deal of pressure spread in layers over a distance of about 100 miles.

‘The Holy Quran’ in its verse 25:53, while talking about soft water being mixed with sea water says “ We have created a screen and a strong barrier in between the two”

We find a great scientific truth in the verses of the Quran where it announces about the presence of a single barrier between two seas and and two barriers separating the soft water from the sea water.

There is a great scientific truth as follows:-

When water from a river enters the sea a barrier in the form of density separates both the waters, and in addition a new barrier is formed with the salt water and soft water together forming this. This fact was revealed by Prophet Muhammad an illiterate forteen hundredyears ago, proving the Quran is the word of God.

Hence this is yet another evidence to assert that Quran is indeed the ‘Word of God’.

304. Space travel is possible.

This verse (55:33) of the Quran clearly states there exists a possibility of man undertaking a travel in space, and also shows ways of turning it into a reality. This verse says unless a competence is innovated by man, it is not possible for him to cross barriers in space.

During those days when the very thought of flying cannot be even imagined, the Quran has disclosed a possibility of space flight with specially acquired skills.

This verse addresses both humans as well as the jinns. The Quran says jinns can travel in space without acquiring any special skills.

This should not be seen as contradictory statements of the Quran.

The jinns are naturally endowed with skills required for space travel. They can perform the task without any special equipments, whereas man has not been granted any such powers.Hence it has to be understood, if man can make ready such equipments, would make travel in space a possibility for him.

Space travel is a possibility for man with limitations, and this possibility does not extend to the limits of the seven heavens under the custody of the Almighty. We have already explained in point No;307 about how jinns, and shaitans, are driven away with fireballs when they venture to gather messages from the heavens.

The Quran has proved itself to be the word of God, by disclosing 1443 years before about the possibility of space travel.

303. The many darknesses.

When the Quran talks about ‘light’ it mentions only singularly, but darkness is referred to in the plural form.

But the Quran mentions darkness in plural form in all places referred by it.

The following verses 2:17, 2:19, 2:20, 2:257, 5:16, 6:1, 6:39, 6:59, 6:63, 6:97, 6:122, 10:27, 13:16, 14:1, 14:5, 17:78, 21:87, 24:40, 27:63, 33:43, 35:20, 39:6, 57:9, 65:11 are the ones where we can find mention of different kinds in darkness.

When darkness is generally addressed in singular form, its mention in plural is viewed with a backdrop of great scientific discovery.

Though light appears to us as a single phenomena, it has seven different color components with individual wavelengths, and penetration powers. The color component with a short wavelength can be split by a medium very easily, and the one with a longer wavelength is hard to be broken into much smaller fragments..

Certain colors stop being refracted within a short distance, whereas others get to be refracted to a longer distance. Some colors at a little more distance.

Each color when stopped from penetrating, turns dark. When only three of the rainbow colors are visible the rest are merged as darkness.

When we read a sign board with red, yellow and blue colored letters, they are visible at a particular distance, but when viewed from a much longer distance, the blue colored letters are invisible in spite of the place being brightly lit.

It means the blue color turns into darkness at that distance, and in the same way the other colors turn into darkness depending upon the distances viewed from.

Hence it can be seen different darknesses engulfing different colors at different distances,

thus the usage of the word darknesses in plural.

Similarly the Quran talks of darknesses at different levels of depths increasing at deep sea in verse 24:40.

This verse talks of the hands of a person becoming invisible to him at a level in the deep sea.

The scientists have discovered how the sunlight that falls on the surface of the sea diminishes gradually as the depth increases and turns into complete darkness at a particular death.

There are seven different colors in the sunlight known as the rainbow colors.

Since the wavelength of each color differs from the other, the colors get blocked at different depths in the sea.

The rays of red color component of the sunlight penetrates only upto a distance of 15 meters depth in the sea. At a depth of more than 15 meters in the sea water only six color components would be visible with the red color component of the sunlight blocked and becoming dark, where red colored objects become invisible. Likewise different colors get blocked at different levels of the sea water, until at a depth where all the colors are blocked and complete incomparable darkness engulfs the surrounding, as discovered by scientists.

American researcher Beef says “ On reaching a depth of 1000 meters under the sea, my eyesight staggers, and all colors lose their relevance, and the darkness above the surface of the sea/earth cannot be termed as one in comparison with the below found phenomena.

There are different grades of darkness, and at a depth of 1000 meters under the sea, a complete incomparable darkness can be found in the daytime.

The disclosure by Prophet Muhammad who was never a seafarer all his life, such scientific facts is yet another proof the Quran is ‘Word of God”

302. No parable for the light from God.

In verse (24:35) of the Quran, Allah declares Him as the ‘Light’ and also explains the parable.

Though the comparison of worldly light with that of God as ‘Light’ is not at all congruent and acceptable. A question arises, as to how can this be an example of God as a ‘Light’.

But here the comparison of God as ‘Light’ refers to the guidance provided by His religion and the straight path shown through it.

Because at the end of this verse we find the words “ To those who seek his ‘Light’, Allah guides them.

The meaning of the verse conveys that He will guide the straight path to those He wills, and show them the path to His religion.

Verses 2:55, 4:153, 6:103, 7:143, 25:21 of the Quran say ‘No one can witness the ‘Light’ of God.

The example portrayed in this verse refers to the guidance by the Almighty as the ‘Light’ that guides to the only religion recognised by Him and not necessarily refers to the material meaning of ‘Light’.

We should be aware of the verses 42:11, 112:4, that say there is no equal to God.

Please refer to explanation point 21 regarding ‘Allah’s Light’
